Did You Know: I'm On Redbubble

Greetings reader,

As I briefly mentioned in a previous post, I’ve opened a shop on a website called “Redbubble".

On this shop, I have a number of products up for sale, including prints (not fine art quality and not signed), posters, stickers, mugs, pillows, clocks, even a pair of socks for one image. I’m constantly updating the available products, so it’s worth checking at least once a month, or so.

Currently, I don’t have any of my “fine art” images up for sale, and I’m still debating whether or not I should. On the one hand, I don’t want to risk devaluing the prints I personally make. However, on the other hand, getting people to this website to purchase my prints is much harder than making them available on an online shop. Furthermore, my fine part prints are signed, numbered, and come with a certificate of authenticity, so they will still retain the value, in the sense. I’ll be sure to keep an exclusive or two on my website, but it’s possible you’ll be seeing some of my current and future images pulling double duty.

As for the pricing on Redbubble, yeah, it’s not super cheap. Basically, they apply a base cost, and I choose a markup value for myself. Typically, I try to keep mine between 20-40% depending on the price and quality of the image/how good it looks on the product. My prices are more or less the same across the board, but I do make tweaks to products I think look higher quality, and to those that just look OK.

As for the quality, Redbubble handles all of the production and shipping, so that’s out of my control. I simply upload and image, adjust the size or placement on the item, choose which items I want to make available, and Redbubble handles the rest. All of this is to say, if you’re interested in a 100% guaranteed high quality handmade print up to my personal standards, buying from my personal shop is the way to go. If you want something neat and fast, Redbubble is the way to go, as even when I have shipping freezes for my site, Redubble is complete unaffected.

You can check my shop out here. If you have any requests for images you want to see on here (from my portfolio or Instagram), I’d love to hear from you. I just opened it a month or so ago, so the designs a quite limited, but as I mentioned, I’m constantly updating it. My goal is to have at least 25 designs up by the end of this year, and 100 designs up by the end of 2020.
